Are you looking to grow your fundraising career in higher education? UBC’s Okanagan campus has an opening for a Development Officer to join its major gifts team. With 10,000 students and 1,000 faculty and staff, the Development team supports the ambitions of UBC Okanagan to continue its growth as an innovative hub for learning, research and discovery in the heart of BC’s southern Interior.

As the Development Officer, you will work in partnership with senior management to facilitate significant private and public sector support; develop and implement comprehensive and complex plans for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects and donors.  You will develop and manage a portfolio of prospective donors and ensure appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship programs are in place. Responsibilities include overseeing the generation of proposals and correspondence, and some administrative accountabilities.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum three years’ experience in major gifts, complex relationship management and revenue generation preferably in higher education. The successful incumbent will have the ability to plan, coordinate and supervise the work of others, in order to execute a variety of complex projects with imposed deadlines and outstanding written and oral communication skill. Ambitious, strategic, creative and a generous team player and collaborator.
