Advancement Officers: Campaign and Regional and Global Development - The University of British Columbia
UBC’s Development and Alumni Engagement portfolio (DAE) is seeking two talented, proactive, strategic professionals to join one of Canada's most successful development programs. We are seeking incumbents for two Advancement Officer positions: one in Campaign, and one in Regional and Global Development. The incumbents of these internally facing roles will provide strategic support by managing the ongoing program operations and delivering thoughtful, timely, accurate materials and reporting within a highly collaborative environment. Each incumbent will develop and implement comprehensive systems and procedures that have broad impact on their unit as well as be responsible for supporting development related activities of senior leadership. The incumbents may be required to plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of others.
The incumbents must have strong organizational and project management skills, good judgement, impeccable writing skills, and contribute to a collegial working environment. The incumbents are responsible for developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior volunteers. The individuals thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively balance multiple priorities and deadlines with adaptability. The incumbents take pride in attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture.
Advancement Officer, Campaign
The Campaign Unit focuses on the readiness, operations, and volunteer engagement for campaign initiatives as well as governance for UBC’s affiliated foundations. Reporting to the Executive Director, Campaign, the Advancement Officer will provide strategic support for these areas as well as apply their exceptional planning skills to creating workflow processes and monitoring project timelines. The incumbent will support the creation of volunteer structures along with the identification, recruitment and onboarding of senior volunteers. The incumbent will develop volunteer toolkits and deliver engagement opportunities for volunteer leadership including the design and execution of high-level meetings. The incumbent will manage unit liaison functions across DAE, the university, and externally.

Advancement Officer, Regional and Global Development
The Regional and Global Development program focuses on advancing philanthropy for UBC, predominantly in Asia, through strategic engagement of the President, development leadership, other senior university representatives and volunteers. Reporting to the Senior Director, Regional and Global Development, the Advancement Officer provides key support on the development of comprehensive visit programs in UBC’s key markets. This includes leadership on the visit program calendar, managing the donor pipeline, advancing strategy on prospects, drafting strategic correspondence that deepens relationships, delivering all of the materials for comprehensive visit program against prescribed timelines, as well as the liaison between the unit and other DAE portfolio units such as research and finance, all of which deepen the institution’s relationships with important prospective supporters and donors.
