---------------------------------------- Session #1 ----------------------------------------

Keynote Speaker
Dan Pallotta presenting his most popular session “Uncharitable” live via remote

Dan Pallotta is a builder of movements. He invented the multi- day charitable event industry. He created the Breast Cancer 3-Day walks and the multi-day AIDS Rides, which raised in excess of half a billion dollars in nine years and were the subject of one of the first Harvard Business School case studies on social enterprise. The model and methods he created are now employed by dozens of charities and have raised in excess of $1.5 billion more for important causes from pediatric leukemia to AIDS to suicide prevention and many others.

Dan will kick things off in the morning live via remote to present his
flagship talk about how the way we think about charity is dead wrong.

This session is based on Dan’s book,   "UNCHARITABLE," and we’ll be drawing a
lucky winner of a copy of this book The Stanford Social Innovation Review said,
“Deserves to become the non-profit sector’s new manifesto.”

This talk has been delivered in 38 states and 8 countries to wide acclaim and standing ovations. You’ll want to bring your senior management, board of directors and communications   team to hear first-hand his perspectives on how the non-profit sector can better tap its potential.

We’ll be taking your questions for Dan in advance, so think about your most pressing questions, and register for your chance to submit one!

Trends in Canadian Philanthropy (and what you should do about them) with Paul Nazareth
 Vice President, Education & Development
 Canadian Association of Gift Planners

Philanthropy is evolving. Donors of all ages are getting digital, major donors are considering impact investing and
crowdfunding continues to surge. Where will charities and fundraising land in this changing landscape?

Where does your organization fit into current Canadian giving trends and strategy? How can you adjust and amplify
your ask to take advantage of demographics, technology and social response to philanthropic needs? We will review
a number of Canadian resources and data, then discuss how to adapt to today’s donor and funder landscape
recognizing that we have limited time, resources and capacity. This session will share new research from across Canada
and specific to BC. We will also discuss client philanthropy from advisors in finance, tax, law and insurance and how
this network is a critical part of the philanthropic conversation as well as how Donor Advised Funds are affecting   the sector.

You will leave with a better understanding of where we are as a sector and where you need to adjust your fundraising strategy.
