Lucy has been passionate about fundraising since she organized her first ever event at the age of 10, a ‘garage sale’ to raise funds for a local charity. Ever since then, Lucy’s focus on community and on people has continued to bring her joy, and as a result a lot of passion to her work.
Lucy has been fundraising in Vancouver for 10 years, during this time she has successfully matched people and businesses with programs and causes they truly care about, initiating and inspiring change in our communities along the way.
Since her first encounter with AFP Greater Vancouver, Lucy has witnessed and experienced first-hand the value of the organization in furthering connections, building networks, and creating a sense of belonging. Helping professionals in this industry connect with other caring humans has encouraged her to volunteer as co-chair of the National Philanthropy Day committee for the past three years, and subsequently join the AFP of Greater Vancouver Board of Directors.
“It is a privilege to be able to connect people with this passion every day, and the joy I feel when I match a donor with a cause they love or create a partnership between community and business confirms I am part of an awesome profession.”
Lucy is Director of Development for Family Services of the North Shore and like them, believes that communities must take care of their most vulnerable. She lives with her family in the community she loves on the North Shore in beautiful Deep Cove.
