Azra Hussain is the Chief Operating Officer at Surrey Hospitals Foundation, Surrey BC. As a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Fundraising Executive, Azra brings a unique skill set to her responsibilities of financial oversight, Human Resources and operations of the Foundation. With an extensive career as an executive-level leader in the non-profit industry, Azra has successfully merged the hard skills of finance together with the soft skills of fundraising resulting in aggressive growth in the Foundation where she operates.
Azra is a member of the Women’s Executive Network Canada and also serves on the Surrey Board of Trade’s Women in Surrey Business where she received the Not-for-Profit Leader award in 2020. Azra holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designations and sits on the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver. She believes in advancing the power of collaboration that allows for innovation and advancement at both an individual and team level. Azra lives ‘Leadership by Example’ through her root passion in volunteer work. She volunteers with the CPA‘s Financial Literacy and Mentorship Program and the local Tax Clinic to assist low-income groups with their personal tax filings.
